AUSTRALIA WEEK BBQ - 24 January 2010 From: 10.30-3.30
As part of Australia week, on Sunday the 24th of January 2010, the Australian-American Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a BBQ and Australia vs England Cricket match at Bear Creek Park (Pavilion 6). Click for Park Map.
The day has very generously been sponsored by Macquarie.
The day will be a celebration of all things Aussie, beating the poms at cricket, snags on the barbie and an old fashioned baking competition. There will also be a bouncing castle for the little ones.
The cricket will be a casual affair (played in backyard style). Although winning isn't important (right!) - the winners of the "match" will take home the inaugural "Australian American Chamber of Commerce Trophy" (a.k.a. the other Ashes!). The game will commence at 10.30 am and there will be 20 over's per side.
In the style of the Country Women's Association, the bake off will focus on Aussie delights. There will be three categories: Lamingtons, Pikelets and an open category. Entries must be submitted by 11.30 on the day and prizes will be awarded. Please provide at least 6 samples of each (i.e. 6 lamingtons) and a card stating your name, age (if under 18), phone number and the ingredients of your culinary masterpiece.
As council regulations prohibit the passing of money on park property, it is EXTREMELY important that you purchase your tickets to the BBQ before the day and preferably by Wednesday 20 January.

Food and beverages will be provided on the day. There are plenty of picnic tables at the ground, but feel free to bring along your chairs, picnic rugs and footballs to kick around!

Aussie Chef Jason Gould will prepare lemingtons and vanilla available to purchase and will be ready to pick at the Family BBQ. These yummy treats will not be sold at the BBQ and are available by prepurchase only so place your order today! Both treats are available in orders of 6 pieces for $9 each. The last day place an order is Wednesday January 20, 2010!
